AUSTIN, Texas - Texas Athletics and Longhorn Network announced on Thursday that the Longhorns' Nov. 17 Football game versus Iowa State will kickoff at 7 p.m. CT and be broadcast on LHN.
Texas is 13-2 all-time against Iowa State, defeating the Cyclones 17-7 a season ago in Ames. The Longhorns beat ISU 27-6 in 2016, the last time the two programs met at Darrell K Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium.
Kickoff times and television selections for four of Texas' contests in the 2018 season were announced earlier in June. The season opener at Maryland at FedEx Field on Saturday, Sept. 1 will start on FS1 at 11 a.m. CT/12 p.m. ET, while Longhorn Network will air the home opener versus Tulsa on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. CT. The home matchup against USC on Saturday, Sept. 15 will be on FOX at 7 p.m. CT, and the game at Kansas on Friday, Nov. 23 will be on FS1 at 11 a.m. CT.
Since its launch in 2011, LHN has televised 16 Texas Football games, with the games against Tulsa and Iowa State serving as the 17th and 18th, respectively. The 2018 season marks the eighth year LHN has exclusively televised select Texas Football games.
Texas GameDay, a two-hour pre-game show, and Texas GameDay Final, an hour-long post-game show, will once again supplement LHN's Texas Football telecasts. Further details on both the game telecasts and the pre-and post-game coverage will be announced at a later date.
The contest between Texas and Maryland will be the fifth all-time meeting between the teams, but only the Longhorns' second time playing at Maryland in series history and the first there since 1960. The game against Tulsa will mark the first-ever meeting between the Longhorns and the Golden Hurricane, while the game against USC will be the seventh all-time between the two storied programs, but the first in Austin since 1966. The game at Kansas will be the first between the schools to be played on a Friday in 18 series meetings, and the first time they have met around the Thanksgiving holiday.
