Women's Golf's Papp, Schubert lead United States to 2018 Arnold Palmer Cup Championship

The United States defeated its International counterparts, 38.5-21.5.
EVIAN-LES-BAINS, France - Texas women's golfers Kaitlyn Papp and Sophia Schubert helped the United States claim the 2018 Arnold Palmer Cup with a 38.5-21.5 victory on Sunday at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-Les-Bains, France.
The United States, which won 18 of 24 points in Sunday's singles matches, now leads the all-time series 12-9-1.
The Arnold Palmer Cup was co-founded by Arnold Palmer and The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and began at the Bay Hill Club & Lodge, Orlando, Fla., in 1997. The event was a Ryder Cup-style tournament featuring the top men's and women's university/college golfers matching the United States against a team of International players.
Schubert, a 2018 First-Team All-American according to both Golfweek and the Women's Golf Coaches Association, defeated Arkansas' Maria Fassi, a fellow First-Team All-American and the 2018 Southeastern Conference Player of the Year, 2 and 1, in Sunday's singles match. Schubert contributed two points towards the United States total over the course of the Arnold Palmer Cup.
Papp, the 2018 Big 12 Player of the Year and a WGCA Second-Team All-American, halved her singles match on Sunday with UCLA's Patty Tavatanakit, the 2018 WGCA Freshman of the Year and the 2018 Pac-12 Conference individual champion. Papp contributed three points towards the United States total during the four rounds of the Arnold Palmer Cup.
