Malcom Brown and the New England Patriots take on Malcolm Brown’s Los Angeles Rams.
The University of Texas has a long history with the National Football League and the Super Bowl, as Super Bowl LIII marks the 14th straight season that a Longhorn will make an appearance in the game. The game, which features the New England Patriots against the Los Angeles Rams, kicks off on Sunday night at 5:30 p.m. CT and will be televised on CBS from inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
For the third consecutive season, Lifetime Longhorn Malcom Brown and the Patriots are appearing in the game, tying Brown with Casey Hampton for the most all-time Super Bowl appearances among Longhorns. Brown is looking to become the fifth Longhorn to win multiple Super Bowls in his career. Malcolm Brown and the Los Angeles Rams will oppose the Patriots. Brown is on injured reserve and will not play in the game.
Longhorn Super Bowl Notables
• Malcom Brown joins Casey Hampton as the only Longhorns to ever make three Super Bowl appearances but is the first to make three consecutive appearances.
• With a victory, Malcom Brown would be the fifth Longhorn to earn multiple titles, joining Casey Hampton (Pittsburgh, 2006, '09), Dan Neil (Denver, 1998-99), Terry Orr (Washington, 1988, '92) and Aaron Ross (New York Giants, 2008, '12).
• At least one Longhorn has now appeared in 14 consecutive Super Bowls, a school record.
