- The No. 11 Texas women's basketball team looks to open Big 12 Conference play 3-0 for the fourth consecutive season when it plays host to Oklahoma on Wednesday. Tip-off in the Frank Erwin Center is slated for 7 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally televised by Longhorn Network.
- The Series: Texas and Oklahoma meet for the 57th time in the history of the two programs. The Longhorns lead the all-time series between the two teams 31-25. Texas leads the series 17-9 when the game is played in Austin. The Longhorns have won seven of the last 10 meetings with the Sooners.
- Strong Big 12 Starts: Texas has opened Big 12 Conference play with a 3-0 mark in each of the last three seasons. In 2016-17, the Longhorns set a school record by winning each of their first 14 Big 12 Conference games. The Big 12 schedule is 18 games - a double-round robin format featuring home and away meetings with each of the nine league opponents.
- On The Boards: Texas ranks third nationally in rebound margin at +15.4. The Longhorns lead the Big 12 Conference with 634 total boards on the season and Texas is averaging 45.3 rebounds per game, which ranks 11th nationally. The Longhorns have held or tied for the rebounding advantage in 13 of the 14 games they have played this season and 102 of the last 119 games overall. Texas also is ninth nationally in offensive rebounds per game at 17.0.
- Sweet Like Sug[ar]: Junior Sug Sutton, in her first season as her team's starting point guard, is one of the nation's top all-around floor leaders. Sutton, who has played in 82 career games, ranks 16th nationally in assists per game at 5.9. She also is 16th in the nation with 82 total assists on the year. She has been filling up the stat sheet with 11.4 points per game, 5.1 rebounds per game and 1.6 steals per game. In league games only, Sutton is averaging a team-best 16.5 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game and 5.5 assists per game.
