NOTES
- The Texas women's basketball team wraps up a four-game homestand on Sunday when it plays host to Southwestern Athletic Conference preseason favorite Southern. Tip-off at the Frank Erwin Center is slated for 1 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally televised by Longhorn Network.
- The Series: Texas and Southern are meeting for the sixth time in the history of the two programs. The Longhorns lead the all-time series 5-0. Texas won an 80-42 decision against the Jaguars on Dec. 8, 2014 at the Erwin Center in the last meeting between the two teams. Texas is 19-1 [.950] all-time against teams in the current alignment of the SWAC.
- Double Trouble: Texas leads the nation with nine double-doubles so far this season. It's an impressive statistic, especially considering that during the 2018-19 campaign, the Longhorns charted only 10 double-doubles the entire season. Post players Charli Collier and Joyner Holmes are tied for second in the nation with four double-doubles apiece. They each have a double-double in every game this year. In the Longhorns' last outing against UTRGV, three players garnered double-dips, including senior guard Lashann Higgs' second career double-double.
- Stronger As We Go: Texas in 2019-20 has been a team that has gotten better the deeper the Longhorns have gotten into games. In the four games combined, Texas is being outscored 116-112 in the first half. In the second half, the Longhorns are out-scoring their opponents 172-153. Texas is averaging 28.0 ppg in the first half and 43.0 ppg in the second half.
- On The Boards: Success on the boards has been a staple of Texas teams for many years. In fact the Longhorns have tied or won the rebounding battle in 121 of their last 142 games overall, including three of four games this season. The Longhorns hold a +14.3 rebounding margin. Texas has brought down 50-plus boards in two of the last three games.
- Among the Nation's Best: Texas has 1,090 all-time victories in its program history and ranks sixth all-time against NCAA Division I teams. The Longhorns have also won 73.1 percent of their games all-time.
