• FIRST TRIP TO MACKEY: Saturday's contest marks the first trip by the Longhorns to West Lafayette. The first three meetings between the two schools came at neutral sites in the NCAA Tournament, while last year's matchup was contested in Austin.
• DEFENSE WINS: Texas held Northern Colorado to 45 points on 27.3% FG shooting (15-55), including a 9.5% mark (2-of-21) from three-point range in Tuesday's win. UNC had just 3 assists against 16 turnovers in the contest.
• JONES MAKES STATEMENT IN RETURN: Redshirt sophomore G Andrew Jones posted a career-high 20 points (8-13 FG, 4-5 threes) in 29 minutes during Tuesday's opener. It marked his first extended action since he played 30 minutes on Dec. 5, 2017 at VCU (prior to his leukemia diagnosis in January 2018).
• RAMEY SEES DOUBLE: Sophomore G Courtney Ramey posted his second career double-double (first career points-rebounds double) with 16 points and a career-high 10 rebounds in 33 minutes on Tuesday night.
