NOTES
- The Texas women's basketball team returns to the court on Wednesday following a 10-day break from competition due to final examinations. The Longhorns play host to Mid-American Conference preseason favorite Ohio at the Frank Erwin Center. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally televised by Longhorn Network.
- The Series: Texas and Ohio will meet for just the second time in the history of the two programs. The Longhorns lead the all-time series 1-0. In the only previous meeting between the two teams, Texas defeated Ohio 87-66 at the Frank Erwin Center on Dec. 29, 2001. The Longhorns are 6-1 [.857] all-time against members in the current alignment of the Mid-American Conference.
- Joining The Club: Senior forward Joyner Holmes is the newest member of the Texas 1,000-point club and she will be recognized for that accomplishment prior to tip-off on Wednesday. Holmes now has 1,019 career points, which ranks 43rd in program history.
- On The Boards: Success on the boards has been a staple of Texas teams for many years. In fact the Longhorns have tied or won the rebounding battle in 124 of their last 148 games overall, including six of nine games this season. The Longhorns hold a +8.1 rebounding margin.
- Double Trouble: Texas leads the nation with 14 double-doubles so far this season. Senior forward Joyner Holmes is tied for third nationally with seven double-doubles, while sophomore center Charli Collier has six double-dips. Senior guard Lashann Higgs has one double-double.
- Ball Control: In its win against No. 17 Tennessee on Dec. 8, the Longhorns only committed eight turnovers in the game. It was a season-low and marked the fewest turnovers that Texas had committed since March 5, 2018 vs. Baylor. In its five wins this season, Texas is averaging 13.8 turnovers per game, but committing 16.8 turnovers per game in its four losses.
- Next Up: Texas returns to action on Sunday when it plays host to No. 1 Stanford. Tip-off in the Frank Erwin Center is slated for 12 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally televised by ESPN2.
