No. 1 Men’s Swimming & Diving maintains lead at Minnesota Invite

Drew Kibler claimed the 500 Free title to lead the Longhorns on day two in Minneapolis.
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The No. 1 Texas Men's Swimming and Diving team remains at the top of the standings with a score of 481, following the second day of competition at the Minnesota Invite on Thursday.
California sits in second with 300, followed by Michigan (279.5), Arizona (200.5), Iowa (101), Minnesota (97) and Harvard (52).
Texas finished 1-2 in the 400 Medley Relay, with the grouping of Ryan Harty, Caspar Corbeau, Maxime Rooney and Daniel Krueger took the top spot with a time of 3:01.51. They were followed by Chris Staka, Charlie Scheinfeld, Alvin Jiang and Luke Bowman at 3:03.55.
Drew Kibler claimed the 500 Free title with a 4:11.19 finish. The time is the fastest in the nation this season.
Texas went 1-3 in the 200 IM, led by Matthew Willenbring at 1:41.83. Willenbring was followed by fellow Longhorns Ryan Harty (1:41.86) Braden Vines (1:42.71) and Jake Foster (1:43.16).
Maxime Rooney took second in the 50 Free with a time of 19.24.
The teams are back in the pool on Friday at 10 a.m. for prelims and the finals will follow at 6 p.m.
