- Two of the winningest programs in NCAA Division I women's basketball history meet on Sunday when Texas travels to Knoxville, Tenn., to take on No. 17/19 Tennessee. Tip-off in Thompson-Boling Arena is slated for 1 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally televised by ESPN2.
- The Series: Texas and Tennessee meet for the 41st time in the history of the two programs with the Lady Vols leading the all-time series 25-15. This is the 38th consecutive season that the Longhorns and Lady Vols will meet. Tennessee holds a 12-6 advantage when the game is played in Knoxville. Texas is 146-75 [.600] all-time vs. members in the current alignment of the Southeastern Conference.
- Winner's Circle: Texas and Tennessee have a combined 2,462 victories all-time. The Lady Vols rank first in NCAA history with 1,370 all-time wins, while the Longhorns rank sixth with 1,092 victories. Texas has won 73.1 percent of its games all-time.
- Joining the Club: Senior forward Joyner Holmes is the newest member of the Texas 1,000-point club, becoming the 45th person to achieve that distinction in the Longhorns' last game vs. Hawaii. Holmes now has 1,015 career points, which is tied for 43rd place in program history.
- Double Trouble: Texas leads the nation with 14 double-doubles so far this season. Senior forward Joyner Holmes is tied for the national individual lead with seven double-doubles, while sophomore center Charli Collier has six double-dips. Senior guard Lashann Higgs has one double-double.
- On The Boards: Success on the boards has been a staple of Texas teams for many years. In fact the Longhorns have tied or won the rebounding battle in 124 of their last 147 games overall, including six of eight games this season. The Longhorns hold a +10.6 rebounding margin.
- Next Up: Texas breaks for final examinations before returning to action on Wednesday, Dec. 18 when the Longhorns play host to Ohio. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally televised by Longhorn Network.
