No. 15 Women's Basketball falls to Kansas State, 69-60

Destiny Littleton posted a game-high 16-point performance to pace the Longhorns.
AUSTIN, Texas — Sophomore guard Destiny Littleton scored a game-high 16 points, but The No. 15 Texas Women's Basketball team (20-6, 10-4 Big 12) fell 69-60 to Kansas State (16-10, 7-7 Big 12) on Sunday night at the Frank Erwin Center. Littleton converted on 6-of-13 from floor, including 3-of-6 from three-point range, while adding four rebounds in 34 minutes.
Senior guard Danni Williams tallied 14 points, shooting at a 4-of-8 clip from long distance, and four rebounds, while freshman forward Charli Collier added 12 points and eight rebounds in 19 minutes.
Littleton accounted for eight of Texas' first 13 points, including a put-back layup to cap an 8-0 run that gave the Longhorns a 13-4 lead at the 4:42 mark. UT would be held scoreless for the remainder of the first quarter but would maintain a six-point advantage (13-7) after the opening frame.
K-State knocked down its fourth three-pointer of the second quarter with 1:49 remaining to take their first lead (25-24) since the Wildcats led 2-0 at the 8:33 mark of the first quarter. Littleton countered with a baseline jumper but Kansas State would score again with 14 seconds left to take a one-point lead (27-26) into the locker room.
Texas opened the second half with a 16-1 run to capture a 14-point lead (42-38) at the 5:18 mark. Once again, K-State's three-point shooting kept them within striking distance as the Wildcats were able to trim Texas' lead to one (46-45) after Kayla Goth sank her third three-pointer of the game with one second left in the third quarter.
Kansas State's Goth finished a traditional three-point play that pushed the Wildcats back ahead (48-46) at the 9:26 mark of the final quarter. Six straight points from Collier allowed the Longhorns to re-take a one-point lead (52-51) with 5:59 left.
Williams connected on a long three that cut K-State's lead to five (63-58) with 1:14 remaining. However, the Longhorns were unable to dig any further into Kansas State's lead over the remainder of the game.

- The Longhorns used the starting lineup of Joyner Holmes, Littleton, Jatarie White, Sug Sutton and Williams.
- Littleton scored a game-high 16 points, connecting on 3-of-6 from downtown, while also pulling down four rebounds. This marks the fourth time this season Littleton has registered three or more three-point makes in a game.
- Sutton dished out nine assists and grabbed four rebounds to complement her six-point performance. This marks the fourth time Sutton has recorded nine or more assists in a game this season. Over 26 games, Sutton is averaging 5.8 assists per game.
- Williams contributed 14 points, finishing 4-of-8 from beyond the arc, and chipped in four rebounds. Williams' four three-point makes marks the sixth time the senior has knocked down four three-pointers or more in a game this season.
- Collier notched another solid performance with limited court time, adding 12 points and eight rebounds in just 19 minutes. This marks Collier's eighth time scoring in double-figures this season.
- Kansas State was hot from downtown, connecting on 10-of-23 (43.5 percent) from the beyond the arc, while shooting just 13-of-39 (33.3 percent) from two-point range. In the two matchups against the Wildcats this season Texas has allowed Kansas State to convert 21-of-42 three-point attempts.
