OKLAHOMA CITY - Four Texas women's basketball players scored in double figures on Sunday and the No. 21 Longhorns climbed back from a 16-point deficit before falling, 75-69, to No. 19 Iowa State in the semifinals of the Big 12 Conference Tournament at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
The Longhorns (23-9) were led by junior forward Joyner Holmes' team-high 19 points in 21 minutes of play. Senior center Jatarie White totaled 18 points and brought down seven rebounds in 32 minutes.
Junior point guard Sug Sutton flirted with a triple-double with 12 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in 38 minutes. Senior guard Danni Williams registered 12 points.
Iowa State (25-7) was led by Alexa Middleton's game-high 24 points.
Texas will return home to prepare for its 32nd all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Tournament Selection Show will take place on Monday, March 18 at 6 p.m. CT.
