No. 21 Women's Basketball closes regular season with win at TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas - Junior point guard Sug Sutton scored a game-high 21 points Tuesday and junior forward Joyner Holmes turned in her third double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds as No. 21 Texas closed the regular season with a 62-48 win against TCU at Schollmaier Arena.
The Longhorns (22-8 overall, 12-6 Big 12 Conference) earn the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Big 12 Conference Tournament. Texas will face sixth-seeded TCU in the quarterfinal round on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. CT at Oklahoma City's Chesapeake Energy Arena.
The Longhorns shot 44.1 percent (26-of-59) from the field in the game and out-rebounded the Horned Frogs 47-31.
Sutton added six assists, four rebounds and two steals to her 21 points in 36 minutes of action. It marked the fourth time this season that she has eclipsed the 20-point plateau.
Holmes charted her 12th career double-dip with 10 points and 11 rebounds to go along with two steals in 30 minutes. Senior center Jatarie White just missed a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. She also added two blocks in 20 minutes of play.
The two teams were tied 31-31 at halftime. Out of intermission, Holmes converted a jumper in the paint at the 8:50 mark of the third period to give the Longhorns a 31-33 advantage. Texas would not trail the rest of the way. The Longhorns out-scored TCU 14-4 in the fourth quarter and limited the Horned Frogs to just 9.1 percent (1-of-11) shooting in the game's final period.
TCU (20-9, 10-8 Big 12) was led by Jordan Moore's 15 points and eight rebounds.
