No. 4 Rowing places all boats in top four at San Diego Crew Classic

The novice eight took first place, claiming the Laurel Korholz Perpetual Trophy.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- On Sunday, the No. 4 Texas Rowing team concluded racing at the grand finals of the San Diego Crew Classic. All four boats took top-four spots, with the novice eight (N8+) placing first overall, claiming the Laurel Korholz Perpetual Trophy with a time of 6:59.358.

The varsity four (V4+) started the day out for the Longhorns, finishing fourth overall with a time of 7:19.965 ahead of California and UCLA. The second varsity eight (2V8+) placed fourth overall, beating Washington State and UCLA with a time of 6:49.186. Last on the day to race was the first varsity eight (1V8+), which battled against top crews to take third place at 6:35.890.

Next up, the Longhorns will head to Princeton, N.J. on April 20th to take on Ivy League powers Princeton and Yale.
