WHAT THEY'RE SAYING
Trevor Danielson: "Today was great. I was excited to be the first thrower of the competition and get things started. I had a solid series of throws, but the primary goal was always to score 10 points for the team. I told Coach Flo[real] that I'd get 10 points for the team, so I'm glad I came out on top. It's a great feeling to win here as well as setting a new personal record. I think it shows just how well Coach Sion and I work together and how well we've prepared for this."
Ashtin Zamzow: "I'm excited I could pick up 10 points for my team in the javelin. It was a great way to start the first day of the Big 12 Conference meet. It made me feel a little better with my heptathlon performance today, but there's still a lot of points left on the table. I'm hoping to come out with a better second day and another win for the team!"
