PREVIEWING THE 2019 TEXAS LONGHORNS
The Texas Football program is ranked No. 10 in the preseason Associated Press Top 25. This is Texas' first top-10 ranking in the preseason AP Top 25 since 2010. UT was also slotted at No. 10 in the Amway Coaches Poll earlier this month, marking the first time that the Longhorns have been ranked in the top 10 of both national polls to start the season since 2010.
The defending Sugar Bowl champions face a challenging schedule once again in 2019, as eight of its opponents qualified for bowl games last season, and five of those were victorious in their postseason efforts. In 2019, 10 of UT's regular season games are contested in the state of Texas. The Longhorns only leave the Lone Star State to face West Virginia in Morgantown on Oct. 5 and to visit Iowa State in Ames on Nov. 16.
The 2019 season opens Saturday, Aug. 31 at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium when the Longhorns host Louisiana Tech. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Central on Longhorn Network.
