With the birth of Longhorn City Limits (LCL) in 2018, the Live Music Capital of the World and Texas Football gamedays became synonymous. This season, Longhorn City Limits presented by ATX Web Designs returns to the LBJ Lawn, located on the northeast corner of Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, for a more expansive experience with FREE pre- and postgame concerts by national and regional artists.
A new addition in 2019, the Deep Eddy Lounge at Longhorn City Limits features Texas-themed cocktails crafted from the award-winning Austin-based vodka. This refreshing area is a destination for fans ages 21 and up who want a new way to enjoy pregame while listening to the talented LCL artists on stage. Fans will also enjoy a unique photo op in front of a custom burnt orange Austin skyline. All bars at LCL also feature pregame happy hour pricing including $5 16-oz. domestic beers, $6 16-oz. premium beers, and $5 wine spritzers.
Other LCL enhancements include the addition of a second Stubb's Bar-B-Q location featuring a burnt orange smoker with a BBQ tutorial experience. A new LCL Texas Longhorns Official Team Shop location also sells exclusive Longhorn City Limits merchandise.
Fans also have the opportunity to take a photo in front of the new Longhorn City Limits guitar monument. This double-sided feature is located on the west curb of the LBJ Lawn closest to Robert Dedman Dr.
LCL and the Deep Eddy Lounge open at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31 before Texas Football's season opener vs. Louisiana Tech (presented by Southwest Airlines) at 7 p.m. LCL closes at 6:30 p.m., then reopens for a postgame concert.
Artist lineups for the first three home games against Louisiana Tech, LSU, and Oklahoma State will be released on Thursday, Aug. 8. Last season, Longhorn City Limits headliners included Jimmie Vaughan, Reckless Kelly, Aloe Blacc, Old 97's, Hayes Carll, and Ghostland Observatory with support by up-and-coming artists The Nightowls, Peterson Brothers, Jackie Venson, Django Walker, Dalton Domino, and Mobley. Postgame silent discos became a fan favorite following evening kickoffs. LCL also returned for the 2019 Made in Austin Weekend with pregame concerts by Alejandro Escovedo and Alesia Lani followed by the postgame featured performance by Ludacris, Noah North, and DJ Mr. Rogers.
