Women's Cross Country wins Concordia Classic

The Longhorns swept the team and individual medals in Round Rock on Friday.
ROUND ROCK, Texas – A split squad of Texas Women's Cross Country runners won the Concordia Cross Country Classic on Friday evening at Old Settlers Park, capturing the first five individual finishes and turning in a perfect score of 15 to best second place by 71 points.
The Longhorns' Aaliya Fazel was the individual medalist, registering a time of 23:14.6 over the 6k course. Halena Rahmaan (23:47.3), Zoe Hunter (23:47.5), Jennelle Jaeger-Darakjy (24:00.5) and Valery Tobias (24.02.5) followed Fazel in the top five. UT's first four finishers are all freshmen while Tobias is a sophomore.
The Concordia Classic represented the third consecutive meet that the Longhorns have dominated, and the second-straight outing that the Texas women have won with a perfect score.
Tomorrow, 16 Longhorns (8 women/8 men) will compete against nationally ranked competition in the Bill Dellinger Invitational, hosted by the University of Oregon, in Springfield, Oregon. The men's race begins at 12:30 p.m. (CT) and the women's competition starts one hour later.
