The Longhorns out-shot the Cowgirls in the match, 11-9, including 5-3 in shots on goal
STILLWATER, Okla. – On a cold and blustery Friday night in Big 12 Conference action at Neal Patterson Stadium, No. 12 Oklahoma State (4-2-1) scored goals in the 12th and 60th minutes to knock-off Texas (3-4-0), 2-0.

The Details
After an early Oklahoma State blocked shot (3:03), Texas got on the board shot-wise at 6:08. Freshman forward Presley Echols took control up the right side and crossed a promising ball into the 18. Waiting tightly marked in the middle was Brooks, but her nine-yard shot rolled wide right.
It was the Cowgirls that struck first at 11:49 to nab a 1-0 advantage. On a quick break up the right wing, defender Charme Morgan crossed a pass into the 18. Racing up the middle of the pitch, Olyvia Dowell managed to beat her defender to the pass, volleying home from seven yards out.
Texas strung together its own threatening break during the 24th minute as Echols took possession on the Longhorns end of the pitch and drove up the right side. The ball soon traveled to Grosso in the middle and then out to Brooks wide on the left wing. The Round Rock, Texas, native took a dribble and tried a 10-yard shot, but it was blocked out by an Oklahoma State defender for a corner.
The Longhorns came close to an equalizer at the 35:27 mark as junior defender Emma Regan dribbled to her left into space at the top of the 18 and tried a left-footed shot. Unfortunately, her 17-yard effort traveled about a foot outside the right post.
With approximately a minute remaining in the opening frame, senior midfielder Haley Berg blasted away from distance outside the top of the 18, but her shot traveled straight to Oklahoma State keeper Emily Plotz.
Texas again came tantalizingly close to a goal at 51:17. Off a corner, Berg ended up in possession out on the right wing. The Celina, Texas, product delivered a cross into a crowd near the right post. Sophomore forward Sydney Nobles tried a quick flick from six yards out, but her shot rolled just inches outside the woodwork.
Against the run of the play, Oklahoma State utilized a set piece to create a second goal at 59:13. From the right corner, defender Kim Rodriguez delivered a ball in towards the back post. With UT keeper Savannah Madden blocked in a crowd, midfielder Grace Yochum found space to head the ball in from three yards out to make it 2-0.
In the 64th minute, Grosso nearly pulled one back for the Longhorns, but her 20-yard blast from the top of the box was tipped just up-and-over the crossbar by Plotz before landing on the top netting.
The Longhorns had another solid opportunity off a free kick in the 70th minute, but Grosso's lengthy try from 30-plus yards out traveled just over the woodwork.
With time beginning to run short in the 84th minute, Brooks tried her luck from distance outside the top of the 18, but her shot again ventured over the top.
Texas did manage a final corner kick opportunity at 89:18, but Oklahoma State cleared the ball to run out the clock on its victory.
