Texas registered a 76.2-percent (16-21) mark in the second half, tied for the fourth-highest FG percentage in a half in program history (since 1965-66) and best since Jan. 15, 2000 (16-21 in second half against Oklahoma).
• DEFENSE & REBOUNDING: Texas held UTRGV to 26.1-percent (18-69) from the field, including a 19.0-percent mark (4-21) from three-point range. The Horns also posted a +18 rebound margin (54-36) in the victory.
• RAMEY IS RIGHT: Junior G Courtney Ramey recorded a game-high 20 points (7-11 FG, 2-4 threes, 4-5 FT), 7 assists and 5 rebounds in 37 minutes during Wednesday's win.
• EYES ON KAI: Sophomore F Kai Jones posted 14 points (6-6 FG) and tied a career high with 8 rebounds in 23 minutes in the season-opening victory.
