AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Track and Field program released its 2021 Indoor schedule on Monday, featuring seven meets and four in the Lone Star State.
The Longhorns will compete at the Corky Classic (Jan. 16; Lubbock), Houston Invitational and Multis (Jan. 29-30; Houston), Charlie Thomas Invitational (Feb. 6; College Station) and Big 12 Indoor Championships (Feb. 26-27; Lubbock) in their home state of Texas. UT will also make three trips to Fayetteville, Ark. for the Arkansas Invitational (Jan. 22), Tyson Invitational (Feb. 12-13) and the NCAA Indoor Championships (March 12-13).
Last season, 13 student-athletes earned 18 All-America honors during the pandemic-shortened NCAA Indoor season. Nine of those 13 Longhorns are eligible for competition during the upcoming season, highlighted by junior Julien Alfred, who earned a trio of All-America honors in the 60m, 200m and 4x400m. Alfred was the NCAA leader in the 60-meter dash entering the NCAA Indoor Championships, which were canceled due to the COVID-19 global health crisis.
