The famed pregame show will broadcast live from the Texas State Fair on Oct. 9.
Austin, Texas – ESPN's College GameDay will broadcast live from the Cotton Bowl and the AT&T Red River Showdown on Saturday (Oct. 9), the show announced on Sunday morning. The show will air for three hours leading up to kickoff at the Cotton Bowl at 11 a.m. CT.
The program will take place on the Cotton Bowl Plaza outside Gate A of Cotton Bowl Stadium beginning at 8 a.m.
The Cotton Bowl is located inside the grounds of the State Fair of Texas. Fairground entrances and coupon booths will open at 7 a.m. and metal detectors will be in place. Fans with AT&T Red River Showdown tickets will use their mobile tickets for admission to the fairgrounds. Fans who would like to attend College GameDay but do not have a game ticket can purchase State Fair tickets in advance or at the Fair.
It will mark the seventh time the GameDay set and its show have been a prominent fixture at the game. The last time was the 2018 thriller when Cameron Dicker's 40-yard field goal with 14 seconds remaining sealed a 48-45 Longhorn victory.
It will also mark the 18th time College GameDay will be on hand for a Longhorn Football game overall. The last time the ESPN show made an appearance in Austin was 2019 when Texas hosted LSU.
Texas is 10-7 all-time when the Horns are one of the teams in College GameDay's featured matchup, while the Longhorns and Sooners have split the previous six appearances at the Cotton Bowl at three apiece.
