No. 2 Women’s Swimming posts strong marks on day two of Minnesota Invitational

Senior Evie Pfeifer won the 500 free (4:40.39) and junior Kelly Pash placed second in the 200 IM (1:55.33).
MINNEAPOLIS – The No. 2 Texas Women's Swimming team collected one win and a pair of runner-up results on day two of the Minnesota Invitational at the Jean K Freeman Aquatics Center at the University of Minnesota. Senior Evie Pfeifer won the 500-yard free with a time of 4:40.39, while junior Kelly Pash finished second in the 200 IM with a time of 1:55.33.
Olivia Bray, Anna Elendt, Emma Sticklen and Pash picked up a runner-up result in the 400 Medley Relay, registering an A-qualifying time of 3:27.53.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Pfeifer registered the fastest 500-yard free times in both the morning and evening sessions, swimming a 4:41.13 in the prelims to qualify for the championship heat, then posting a 4:40.39 in the final, the ninth-fastest time in the NCAA this season.
- Freshman Erica Sullivan posted the fifth-fastest 500 yard time in the prelims (4:44.06) and placed sixth in the A-Final with a time of 4:43.85.
- Pash swam the third-best prelim time in the 200 IM (1:56.03) before earning her runner-up result in the evening's final.
- Sticklen finished seventh in the 50 free final with a mark of 22.55 after registering the fifth-fastest time in the prelims at 22.24.
- The 400 medley relay team of Bray, Elendt, Sticklen and Pash combined for the fifth-fastest time in the NCAA this season.
The Minnesota Invitational continues on Thursday, Dec. 3 with the prelims at 10 a.m. CT and finals at 6 p.m. CT.
