AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Women's Basketball team fell to Oklahoma in overtime, 68-63, on Saturday at the Frank Erwin Center. The loss drops Texas to 16-7 overall and 10-6 in Big 12 play this season.
The Longhorns were stout defensively in the early goings of the game, holding the Sooners to just 20 points at halftime. Texas limited Oklahoma to only nine points in the second quarter, marking the 12th time this season that UT has held its opponent to less than 10 points during a quarter.
Charli Collier was again Texas' most efficient and effective player on the offensive end, scoring 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting and grabbing seven rebounds before fouling out late in the fourth quarter. Collier also added one block and a career-high four steals, the 12th time in her career she has logged multiple steals in a game.
Three other Longhorns reached double figures, with Audrey Warren's 13 points (5-10 FG) leading that group. Celeste Taylor and Joanne Allen-Taylor each finished with 10 points. Taylor added career-highs in rebounds (12) and assists (6) along with four steals, as she recorded her second collegiate double-double. Her first came nearly one year ago to the day, in a Feb. 26, 2020, matchup at TCU last season.
Texas faces a quick turnaround with No. 7 Baylor set to visit the Erwin Center on Monday night, as the Longhorns wrap up their 2020-21 home slate. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
