No. 4 Volleyball falls in National Championship Match

OMAHA, Neb. – No. 4 Texas Volleyball came up short against No. 2 Kentucky in the NCAA Championship Match on Saturday at the CHI Health Center Arena.
The Longhorns (27-2) won the first set of the match, before the Wildcats (24-1) rattled off the next three sets to win the title. Texas hit .349 in the match and were led offensively by Logan Eggleston with 21 kills.
Skylar Fields finished with 16 kills, while Brionne Butler and Molly Phillips each had eight kills. Asjia O'Neal had six kills and a team-high four blocks.
Jhenna Gabriel dished out 52 assists and added six digs. Morgan O'Brien and Sydney Petersen each had 12 digs, while Nalani Iosia finished with nine digs.
Texas led most of the way in the first set, getting a great performance from O'Neal with three blocks and two kills. Kentucky had a strong start to the second set and held on to even the match up at one set apiece. The third and fourth sets were extremely tight but the Wildcats came out on top.
Brionne Butler and Logan Eggleston both landed on the NCAA All-Tournament Team for their performances over the five matches.
