Bromberg second in Women’s Synchro 10-meter after semifinals at Olympic Trials

Campbell in second in Men’s Synchro 3-meter after Monday’s semifinals.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Former University of Texas star Murphy Bromberg and partner Katrina Young are in second place after Monday's preliminary and semifinal rounds of the Women's Synchronized 10-meter Platform competition at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Diving. Former UT diver Grayson Campbell and partner Gregory Duncan also rest in second place following Monday's prelims and semifinals of the Men's Synchronized 3-meter Springboard competition.
Both Bromberg and Campbell will attempt to earn their respective spots on the official Team USA roster for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics with a first-place finish in the final round on Friday evening.
Bromberg and Young (590.22 points), who won bronze at the 2019 FINA World Championships in the event, trail 2016 Olympian Jessica Parratto and 2019 World Championships bronze medalist Delaney Schnell (613.68) by 23 points following the semifinal rounds. During Monday's morning prelims, Bromberg and Young edged out Schnell and Parratto by less than one point (302.04-301.32).
In the Men's Synchronized 3-meter Springboard competition, Campbell and Duncan hold a narrow lead of 0.63 points (784.89-784.26) over the third-place pair of David Boudia and Steele Johnson, who won the silver medal at the 2016 Olympics on the Synchronized Platform event. The tandem of Mike Hixon and Andrew Capobianco own a 64-point margin over Campbell and Duncan after Monday's semifinals.
Finals for both the Women's Synchronized Platform and the Men's Synchronized 3-meter Springboard are set for Friday, June 11 at 6 p.m. Central (7 p.m. Eastern), and the competition will be televised on the Olympic Channel.
