- Texas will be facing off against UTRGV for the third time in program history with the Longhorns holding a 2-0-0 series lead (both wins in Austin). UT took the last meeting between the two teams back on Sept. 14, 2018, 2-1.
- Texas senior defender Emma Regan has been voted as one of the team leaders for a reason. It's because she provides a consistent presence in the Longhorns backline. The Burnaby, British Columbia, native has played in Texas' last 46 matches and is riding a streak of 42 consecutive starts dating back to Oct. 25, 2018. For her career, Regan has played in 52 total matches with 51 starts. As a freshman in 2018, she missed numerous matches due to a Team Canada call-up for senior-level international duty at the CONCACAF Women's Championship.
- Lexi Missimo now owns an impressive five career goals and 15 career points over her first nine collegiate matches after her career-high, five-point effort on Sept. 2 against New Mexico State (two goals, one assist) and an assist at No. 19 Rice on Sept. 5.
- Julia Grosso usually makes her shots on goal count. Since the start of the 2019 season, Grosso has scored 15 goals on her last 42 shots on frame (36% shot efficiency).
- Texas enters Sunday needing just two more wins to reach 300 all-time program victories. The Longhorns overall record is currently 298-202-55 (.586).
- The Longhorns have won 33 consecutive matches in which they scored two-or-more goals in a contest dating back to the start of the 2017 season. The last time Texas failed to win when tickling the twine on two occasions was in a 3-2 defeat at TCU back on Oct. 28, 2016.
- UT is 26-3-3 since the start of the 2018 season when scoring first in a match & is 1-0-2 in such contests in 2021.
- Texas holds a 29-22-4 overall record in matches following a loss (that total doesn't carry over losses from end of a season to the next) under the guidance of head coach Angela Kelly. UT is 1-0-1 in such situations so far in 2021.
