Longhorns make it 3-0 against the Ragin' Cajuns in program history.

AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Texas (1-0, 0-0) opened up the 2021 season with a 38-18 victory against the University of Louisiana (0-1, 0-0) at Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Hudson Card and Bijan Robinson sparked the offense to lead to the Longhorns in the first win of the Steve Sarkisian era.

Louisiana got the scoring started behind an eight-play drive that resulted in a 37-yard made FG.
Bijan Robinson scored the first Texas touchdown of the season off a wide open 18-yard pass from Hudson Card for the first lead of the game.
The Longhorns extended their lead to 14-3 after a Cade Brewer 6-yard touchdown reception. Texas completed a 72-yard drive off 14 plays to extend the lead for its final score of the half.
Louisiana took the final points of the first half off a 48-yard made FG to cut the lead to 14-6.
Robinson added his second touchdown of the day, first rushing, from seven yards out to push the Texas lead to 21-6.
The Ragin' Cajuns responded with a 27-yard rushing touchdown and their final touchdown of the day to make the score 21-12.

Jordan Whittington added a 14-yard receiving touchdown to make it a 35-12 Texas lead in the fourth quarter. Whittington finished the day with a career-high day of 113 receiving yards.
Louisiana scored its final points of the night off a 19-yard reception with 9:31 to go in the fourth.
Cameron Dicker notched the final three points from a 49-yard field goal, giving Texas its fourth-straight home opener win.
Bijan Robinson has now rushed for 100 or more yards in four of the last five games, all ending with Texas wins.
