Allen-Taylor posts a game-high 14 points and Lauren Ebo records a double-double as the Longhorns win third-straight game.
FORT WORTH, Texas — Joanne Allen-Taylor registered a team-high 14 points and Lauren Ebo notched a double-double Saturday afternoon as No. 15/14 Texas captured a 68-47 road victory over TCU inside the Horned Frogs' Schollmaier Arena.
With the win, the Longhorns run their record to 14-3 overall on the season with a 4-2 mark in Big 12 competition. TCU drops to 6-9, 2-4.
Allen-Taylor finished the game 6-of-10 from the field and was 1-of-2 from behind the arc. She also dished out a season-best five assists and brought down four rebounds.
Playing in front of her hometown crowd, senior Audrey Warren tallied 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting and was 5-of-6 at the charity stripe. Warren added four rebounds and four assists in the win.
Senior Lauren Ebo posted her second double-double of the season with 10 points and a career-best 13 rebounds, which also led the team. Ebo now has five double-doubles for her career.
The Longhorns played smothering team defense throughout the game holding the Horned Frogs to a 34.8 percent (16-of-46) mark from the field and a 28.6 percent (4-of-14) mark from three-point range.
UT forced 19 TCU turnovers in the game, which led to 15 points, and committed just nine turnovers on the other end.
The Longhorns outrebounded the Horned Frogs 43-37. Texas held a 34-18 advantage in points in the paint.
Texas finished the game shooting 39.1 percent (27-of-59) from the field and shot 66.7 percent (10-of-15) from the free throw line.
The Horned Frogs were led offensively by Lauren Heard who finished with 12 points. Yummy Morris finished with 11 points. Heard also led the team on the glass with seven rebounds and had a team-high seven assists.
Texas is back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 26, as they play host to Kansas State inside the Frank Erwin Center. Tip is slated for 7:00 p.m. CT and will air nationally on Longhorn Network.
