The 2021 NFL playoffs continued with Longhorns contributing on rosters across the league.
AUSTIN, Texas – The 2021 NFL playoffs resumed last week with five former Texas Football players in action.
In an exciting NFL playoff weekend, the Cincinnati Bengals and center Trey Hopkins defeated the Tennessee Titans to advance to their first AFC Championship Game since 1988. The Kansas City Chiefs and defensive end Alex Okafor topped the Buffalo Bills to move on to their fourth consecutive AFC title game. The Bengals-Chiefs matchup ensures that at least one former Longhorn will appear in the Super Bowl for a 17th straight year.
On the NFC side, the San Francisco 49ers, whose roster includes defensive lineman Charles Omenihu and has head coach Kyle Shanahan manning the sideline alongside special teams coordinator Richard Hightower, defeated the Green Bay Packers for a second straight postseason road victory. They will head on the road again next week to face the Los Angeles Rams, who won at defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay, in the NFC Championship Game.
