Hudson Card completed 21-of-27 passes for 303 yards and a career-high three touchdowns on Saturday.
AUSTIN, Texas – Hudson Card completed 21-of-27 passes for 303 yards and a career-high three touchdowns as the Texas Longhorns beat West Virginia 38-20 on Saturday.
Xavier Worthy caught seven balls for 119 yards and two touchdowns and also passed for a touchdown. Bijan Robinson carried 21 times for 101 yards.
KEY STATISTICS
• Xavier Worthy started the scoring for the Longhorns as he reeled in a 15-yard touchdown catch from Hudson Card to put Texas up 7-0. Card went 4-for-4 on the drive for 46 passing yards.
• Worthy threw for the Longhorns second touchdown of the game, a 33-yard strike to Ja'Tavion Sanders to put Texas up 14-0. Card completed a 31-yard pass to Jordan Whittington on the 6-play, 74-yard drive.
• After the first quarter Texas outgained West Virginia 136-57 and allowed one rushing yard.
• Bijan Robinson scored his eighth rushing touchdown of the season to put Texas up 21-0. Robinson has now scored a rushing or receiving touchdown in 16 of his last 17 games and it's his fifth straight with a rushing touchdown. Robinson has scored 30 career touchdowns (23 rushing/seven receiving) and is one of 13 Longhorns to reach that mark.
• Texas drove 87 yards on six plays capped off by a 13-yard touchdown pass from Card to Sanders, the second touchdown of the game for Sanders.
• West Virginia got on the board before halftime with an eight-yard touchdown pass from JT Daniels to Kaden Prather.
• Card connected with Worthy for a 44-yard touchdown pass to put the Longhorns up 35-7. The catch gave Worthy 115 yards on five receptions and was his second receiving reception of the game. It's the fourth career multi-touchdown game for Worthy.
• After a West Virginia touchdown, the Longhorns drove 48 yards on 10 plays, which ended in a Bert Auburn 45-yard field goal to put Texas up 38-14.
