Carrozza Runs Sub-Four Minute Mile at Camel City Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Crayton Carrozza ran the Texas track and field program's first sub-four minute mile of the season with a time of 3:58.96 at the Camel City Invitational.
The Longhorns posted strong times across the board in North Carolina sparked by Carrozza and Yaseen Abdalla. Cole Lindhorst ran his first collegiate mile in 4:22.75, while Cruz Gomez finished the men's mile open in 4:01.69.
On the women's side, Amity Ebarb earned her first collegiate win in the 800m run with her time of 2:13.81. Valery Tobias competed in the 800m elite competition and finished fourth with a time of 2:05.33, the 10th-fastest in the NCAA this season.
Abdalla broke into the Texas all-time record list at No. 2 with a time of 7:51.59 in the men's 3000m. Abdalla now holds the No. 2 all-time best performance. Close behind, Rodger Rivera finished with a time of 7:57.49, becoming the No. 3 all-time performer in Texas history with the No. 3 all-time best performance.
Yusuf Bizimana and Brendan Hebert competed in the men's 800m Elite Run, finishing fourth and sixth, respectively. Bizimana finished with the top-collegiate time of 1:49.83, while Hebert finished at 1:50.65.
