Soccer’s Missimo named to CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship Best XI

The Southlake, Texas, product scored three goals while helping power Team USA to the event title
AUSTIN, Texas – For her recent efforts in helping guide the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team to a berth in the upcoming 2022 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, Texas soccer freshman midfielder Lexi Missimo has been selected to the CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship Best XI Team.
Missimo joined forward Michelle Cooper, midfielder Emily Colton and defender Emily Mason as one of four Americans to make the prestigious squad.
The Southlake, Texas, native scored three goals during group play while helping the Red, White & Blue roll through the event with a perfect 7-0 record while out-scoring its foes, 49-0.
After sweeping through Group E action with victories over Nicaragua (6-0), Puerto Rico (7-0) and the Dominican Republic (7-0), Team USA powered its way through the knockout round by topping Suriname (14-0), Haiti (6-0), Puerto Rico (7-0) and Mexico (2-0).
With their title at the 2022 CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship, the U.S. qualified for its 10th FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
