Neugebauer and Hall Lead Multis after Day 1 of Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas – The 94th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays presented by Truist began with the multis taking over Mike A. Myers Stadium on Wednesday. Leo Neugebauer of Texas and Anna Hall of Florida take the lead in the decathlon and the heptathlon after the first day of competition.
Phillip Frank began the day finishing third in the men's 100m dash with a personal-best time of 11.01 seconds, while Neugebauer was just shy of tying his personal-best at 11.10 seconds. Sam Hurley made his multis debut as a Longhorn, running a time of 11.34 seconds.

Neugebauer matched his personal-best mark in the long jump at 7.26m (23-10) to finish third, sitting in fourth-place with 1,714 points. Frank recorded a jump of 6.79m (22-3.5), while Hurley added a 6.51m (21-4.25) headed into shot put.
The three-time All-American Neugebauer took the lead of the decathlon after a winning-throw of 15.96m (52-4.50). His personal-best throw gave him 849 points and lead into the high jump. Frank and Hurley finished with throws of 12.74m (41-9.75) and 10.85m (35-7.25), respectively.

Neugebauer added a fourth-place finish in the high jump at 2.02m (6-7.50) and 822 points, while Frank finished eighth at 1.93m (6-4). Neugebauer finished the day with a winning and personal-best time of 48.21 seconds.
After five events, Neugebauer leads the decathlon with 4,284 points.
Kristine Blazevica finished the 100m hurdles in 14.16 seconds to finish ninth overall before adding 759 points to her total in the high jump at 1.62m (5-3.75). She added a 10th-place finish in the shot put at 11.53m and closed the day with a top-10 finish in the 200m with a time of 25.12.

Hall posted 3,760 points after four events to lead the field of 18, while Blazevica of Texas posted 3,221.
The Texas Relays returns to action on Thursday at 10 a.m. for the decathlon 100m hurdles and the heptathlon long jump at 10:30.
