No. 1 Volleyball sweeps Oklahoma

The Longhorns improved to 10-0 on the season with their sixth sweep.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 1 Texas Volleyball swept rival Oklahoma, 25-20, 25-21, 25-18, in front of a sell-out crowd of 4,343 on Saturday night at Gregory Gym.
Asjia O'Neal had an outstanding match offensively, leading Texas with a season-high 13 kills on 17 attempts for a .647 hitting percentage. She also added two blocks and one service ace.
The Longhorns (10-0, 2-0) hit .312 in the match and finished with seven service aces while only allowing three for the Sooners.
Madisen Skinner finished with nine kills, while Logan Eggleston had eight kills and eight digs. Bella Bergmark had seven kills and a .462 hitting percentage and Melanie Parra added six kills with a .357 hitting percentage.
Saige Ka'aha'aina-Torres dished out 37 assists and added four digs, one service ace and one kill. Zoe Fleck finished with 13 digs, for her 10th double-digit dig match, and added three assists.
The first set was tied up 12-12 before the Longhorns grabbed the lead and never looked back. O'Neal and Eggleston each had four kills in the set to lead the Longhorns.
Texas trailed 15-12 in the second set before using a 3-0 run after a media timeout to tie the set at 15. From there, the Longhorns built a lead and held on for a 25-21 win to go up 2-0.
In the third set, the Longhorns trailed 8-4 out of the gates before mounting a rally and finishing off the sweep. O'Neal closed out the match emphatically, with five kills on seven swings in the final set.
The Longhorns will head back on the road next week, traveling to take on Texas Tech on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the match televised nationally on ESPN.
