No. 2 Women’s Swim and Dive completes sweep of No. 4 NC State

Texas established a program record in the 400 medley relay; Emma Sticklen (200 fly) and Erica Sullivan (1000 free) post NCAA-leading marks.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 2 Texas Women's Swimming and Diving completed a weekend sweep of No. 4 NC State, winning 93-53 on Saturday morning at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. The Longhorns topped the Wolfpack on Friday night, 124-62.
The morning was highlighted by the final event of the day, as the Longhorns set a new program record in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:25.29. Olivia Bray, Lydia Jacoby, Emma Sticklen and Kelly Pash bested the previous mark set at the Minnesota Invitational in December and improved upon Texas' NCAA-leading time.
Texas relays started the morning with a victory in the 200 free relay, with Grace Cooper, Sticklen, Kyla Leibel and Pash clocking a season-best 1:27.05, the fifth-fastest mark in the NCAA this season.
Bray followed with a win in the 100 back, touching the wall in 51.50 for her second victory of the weekend following last night's top performance in the 200 back.
Jacoby also tallied her second individual victory of the weekend, winning the 200 breast in 2:06.66. She picked up the win last night in the 100 breast, breaking her own American Age Group record with at time of 57.45.
Sticklen and Dakota Luther put on a show in the 200 fly, posting the top-two marks in the NCAA this year. Sticklen won it in 1:51.37, improving upon her number two standing in program history, while Luther finished second, clocking a personal-best 1:51.58 and climbing to third in UT history.
Erica Sullivan then posted the fastest 1000 free in the nation this year, winning by almost 10 seconds with a time of 9:33.66.
Hailey Hernandez picked up her second victory of the weekend, winning on the 1-meter with 402.15 points, the lone competitor to clear the 400-point mark. She also collected the win on the 3-meter last night.
Next up, Texas will host SMU on Senior Day on Friday, Feb. 3 before closing out the regular season at home in The Sterkel Classic on Saturday, Feb. 4.
NOTES:
- Texas took the first four spots on the 3-meter, claiming the top points for the second straight day. Bridget O'Neil (357.60) finished as the runner-up with Jordan Skilken (336.90) placing third and Janie Boyle (325.43) taking fourth.
- The Longhorns claimed the two through four spots in the 100 free with Kelly Pash (47.69) placing second, followed by Grace Cooper (48.92) in third and Ava Longi (49.07) in fourth.
- Anan Elendt finished second in the 200 breast, posting a time of 2:06.66.
- In the 1000 free, Abby Pfeifer finished second with a personal-best 9:43.18 and moved into the number five spot on UT's all-time list, while Olivia McMurray took third with a season-best 9:46.39 and is now sixth on Texas' all-time rankings.
