O’Keefe ties program record in round one of Windy City Classic

Freshman Farah O'Keefe shoots 8-under-par 64 in round one.
GOLF, Ill. — The No. 7 University of Texas women's golf team got off to a strong start at the Windy City Classic on Monday.
Play was stopped due to darkness with a few groups left to complete 1-2 holes in round two.
Freshman Farah O'Keefe came out with nine birdies in the opening round and shot an eight-under-par 64. For O'Keefe, the Austin, Texas native, she tied the UT program record for low round in a tournament.
O'Keefe is currently in the top position on the leaderboard at nine-under-par with a one shot lead and has completed 34 holes.
Bentley Cotton rose 38 spots on the leaderboard in the second 18 holes of the day with a five-under-par 67. Cotton was four-under-par on her first nine holes of the second round, including a stretch of three straight birdies on holes 12-14.
After a six-under-par start in round one, the Horns are currently 10-under-par in the second round and are in second place on the leaderboard at 16-under-par. UCLA leads the field at 24-under-par. Texas and Wake Forest are tied for the low second team round both at 10-under-par.
Groups will complete round two starting at 7:30 a.m. CT tomorrow. Pairings and tee times for round three will be the same as today with the Longhorns going off in round three at 8:42 a.m. CT off hole 10.
The Lineup
• Farah O'Keefe leads the field at nine-under-par with a one-shot lead. She had the most birdies in the field with 13 through 34 holes.
• Bentley Cotton turned in a round of 67 in her second round including three straight birdies. Cotton is up to T10 on the individual leaderboard. Cotton finished in third place in this tournament last year.
• Bohyun Park shot three-under-par in her second round and is two-under-par for the tournament and T29. Park made five birdies in her second 18 holes of the day.
• Lauren Kim shot two rounds of even-par 72 and is T45 on the leaderboard. Kim was the best player in the field in par three scoring with an average of 2.63. Kim made three birdies in her second round.
• Angela Heo was one of six players to make an eagle on the day. Heo eagled the par-5, 503-yard 6th hole in round two and added three birdies in her second 18 holes.
