CJ Baxter scored the game-winning TD on a 16-yard run with 5:37 left in the fourth quarter.

HOUSTON – CJ Baxter ran 16 yards for a touchdown with 5:37 left in the fourth quarter and the Longhorns took down Houston 31-24 on Saturday at TDECU Stadium.

Quinn Ewers completed 23-of-29 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns. Jonathon Brooks ran 20 times for 99 yards. Xavier Worthy caught six balls for 92 yards and a touchdown for Texas.

Texas allowed just 14 rushing yards in the victory. Houston's 14 rushing yards were the fewest allowed by the Texas defense this season and was the second time this season they've held their opponents to under 100 rushing yards (Rice, 27).
