No. 5 Volleyball sweeps UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. – No. 5 Texas Volleyball swept UCF, 25-20, 25-22, 25-23, in front of a record crowd of 1,787 at the Venue at UCF on Saturday afternoon.
The Longhorns (21-4, 16-1) hit .298 in the match and the Knights to a .223 hitting percentage.
Madisen Skinner led the way with 20 kills, while hitting .341 and adding four digs and one block. Jenna Wenaas finished with 11 kills and hit .455 in the match.
Asjia O'Neal added four kill and three blocks, while Molly Phillips finished with four kills and a block.
Texas took the first set, 25-20, after weathering a run by UCF in the middle of the set. The Knights took an 18-17 lead before the Longhorns rallied for an 8-2 run to win the set. Skinner had six kills in the set to lead the Longhorns.
The Longhorns again had to come from behind to win the second set, 25-22, after trailing 16-15. Texas used a 6-0 run to grab a 21-16 lead and held on the rest of the way.
Texas finished off the sweep with a 25-23 third set, hitting a team-high .400 in the set.
Texas returns home for the regular season finale against Texas Tech on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 1 p.m.
