Football remains at No. 7 in newest College Football Playoff rankings

The Longhorns remain at No. 7 in the penultimate 2023 CFP rankings.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Football held firm at No. 7 in 2023 College Football Playoff rankings announced on Tuesday night. The Longhorns are also hold the number seven rankings in both the Associated Press and US LBM Coaches Poll. UT has been ranked seventh in each of the first five CFP rankings.
The Longhorns (11-1, 7-1) dominated Texas Tech in the regular-season finale, 57-7, to earn the team's sixth consecutive win, the longest streak for UT since 2018.
Texas' 11-1 start is the best for the program since 2009, while the 8-1 mark in Big 12 Conference is also the best since 2009 and clinched the Horns the top seed in the Big 12 Conference Championship Game.
UT will play in the seventh Big 12 title game in program history on Saturday, Dec. 2 against No. 18 Oklahoma State (9-3, 7-2). The game will kick off from inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas at 11:00 a.m. CT and will air on ABC. The Longhorns are seeking their first Big 12 championship since 2009 and the fourth in program history.
