Women’s Golf tied for sixth after opening round of Therese Hession Regional Challenge

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. — The No. 8 University of Texas Women's Golf team finished at 6-over (290) in the first round of the Therese Hession Regional Challenge on Sunday.
Texas is tied for sixth-place with Southern California. Baylor leads the tournament a 2-under par and Ohio State, Stanford and San Jose State are T2 at 2-over par.
Sophie Guo led the Longhorns as she carded a 2-under 69 and is tied for sixth-place individually.
The Lineup
• Sophie Guo carded four birdies on her first nine holes for a first nine 2-under 34. Guo shot even par on her second nine holes to finish 2-under and tied for sixth. Guo finished with six birdies in her round.
• Bentley Cotton shot a first nine score of 2-under 35 with three birdies and finished her round at a 2-over 73.
• Cindy Hsu came back from a 2-over first nine to shoot even-par with two birdies in her second nine holes.
• Angel Heo made four birdies in her opening round of the tournament.
• Bohyun Park made one birdie on the day.
