Women's Basketball falls at Iowa State, 66-61

AMES, Iowa — The Texas women's basketball team came up short on the road at No. 22/19 Iowa State in a 66-61 defeat on Monday.
Rori Harmon scored a season-high 19 points and dished out six assists. Freshman Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda scored 10 points. Freshman Amina Muhammad contributed six points and pulled down 11 rebounds. DeYona Gaston scored nine points and added eight rebounds.
Texas (20-7, 11-3) trailed by as many as 15 at 55-40 with 8:51 to play in the fourth quarter. The Longhorns used a 13-2 run and closed to within three at 58-55 on a Harmon jumper with 2:52 to play. Texas trailed by four at 61-57 with 1:24 to play but the Cyclones knocked down a 3-pointer to go up seven and held on for the victory.
Up next the Longhorns host West Virginia on Sunday, February 19 at 3:00 p.m. CT at Moody Center.
