No. 2 Women’s Swim and Dive defeats SMU, 146-109

Texas had the top finisher in 11 of 15 events in the victory over the Mustangs.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 2 Women's Swimming and Diving defeated SMU, 146-109 on Senior Day at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on Friday. The Longhorns had the top finisher in 11 of the 15 events held.
Janie Boyle kicked off the day with a victory on the 1-meter springboard, the senior's first-ever winner for the Longhorns, scoring 311.25 points.
Texas relays followed Boyle's win with a victory in the 200 medley, as the quartet of Kelly Pash, Anna Elendt, Olivia Bray and Grace Cooper posted a winning time of 1:36.98.
Olivia McMurray added a win in the 200 free with a season-best 1:51.47 and Lindsey Hosch won the 100 breast in 1:03.18.
The Longhorns swept the 100 back, led by Pash's winning time of 52.57, a personal best for the senior that placed her as the ninth-best performer in the event in program history. Sienna Schellenger finished second in 56.94 and Grace Cooper swam a personal-best 56.96 to place third.
Senior Bridget Semenuk won the 50 free in 22.43 and Bray posted a season-best in the 100 free of 49.75 to earn the victory.
Hailey Hernandez completed the Longhorn sweep of the springboards, winning the 3-meter with 388.20 points.
Chase Davison was victorious in the 200 back, touching the wall first with a season-best 2:02.89, and Ella Myers dominated the 500 free with a time of 4:59.85, more than 13 seconds ahead of the runner up.
Texas closed out the night with a win in the 400 free relay. Ava Longi, Emma Sticklen, Semenuk and Ellie McLeod combined for a time of 3:23.04 for the victory.
Next up, Texas closes out the regular season at home in The Sterkel Classic on Saturday, Feb. 4 when they host Rice and TCU in a time trials event.
NOTES:
- Texas Diving took the first four spots on the 1-meter and the 3-meter.
- On the 1-meter, Bridget O'Neil placed second with 302.55 points, while Hailey Hernandez scored 300.83 points to finish third and Jordan Skilken took fourth with 297.08 points.
- The 3-meter had O'Neil collect another runner-up result with 377.18 points with Janie Boyle placing second with 343.13 points and Skilken scoring 331.88 points to finish fourth.
- Abby Pfeifer swam a 200 fly personal-best of 2:03.59 to take second and Ava Longi finished second in the 50 free with a time of 22.88.
- Mary Smutny finished third in the 200 free with a time of 1:52.21 and Ellie Andrews took third in the 100 breast in 1:04.62
- Brooke Adams placed third in the 100 free with a mark of 51.88 and Jordan Morgan finished third in the 200 breast with a time of 2:20.82.
- Senior Kyla Leibel swam a 100 fly of 55.80 to take third and Ellie Andrews finished third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:08.51.
