Baseball Alumni Game ends in 4-4 tie

The Longhorns hosted their annual Alumni Game and Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Baseball hosted its annual Alumni Game and Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field, with the game ending in a 4-4 tie to cap the festivities.
The morning started with an autograph session inside the J. Dan Brown Player Development Center and ended with a chance for kids to run the bases.
Right-handed pitcher Zane Morehouse started the game and pitched four innings, allowing just one run on two hits while striking out five batters. Charlie Hurley opposed Morehouse on the mound, logging three innings and allowing just one earned run.
Duke Ellis had the best day offensively for the Texas Exes, going to 1-for-1 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored.
The Longhorns jumped out to an early lead before the Exes chipped away and ended up scoring two runs in in the sixth to even the score.
Texas will open the 2023 season at the College Baseball Showdown at Globe Life Field, February 17-19. The Longhorns play Arkansas on Opening Day at 7 p.m. before taking on Missouri on Saturday and Vanderbilt on Sunday.
The Longhorns will open their home schedule at UFCU Disch-Falk Field against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Feb. 21 at 5 p.m.
