AUSTIN, Texas – With two weeks until the 95th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays presented by Truist, meet director Andrew Klingsporn has announced the accepted entries of the University/Collegiate heptathlon and decathlon fields.
Both multis events are scheduled for competition from Wednesday, March 29 through March 30th at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
The women's heptathlon features the 2023 NCAA pentathlon champion of Jadin O'Brien from Notre Dame, fourth-place finisher Sterling Lester of Florida, Texas' very own Kristine Blazevica who finished fifth at the Indoor Championships and 11-place finisher Izzy Gourdos of Colorado. Last season's Texas Relays saw Florida's Anna Hall shatter the Relays record with her score of 6,412 points.
Leo Neugebauer will lead the field of decathletes coming off his third-place performance at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a program record score of 6,214 points and try and defend his decathlon title. He'll be joined by All-American Dallin Walburn from BYU, Texas Tech's NCAA qualifier Joseph Keys and Jack Turner from UTSA along with 12 others.
Texas A&M's Lindon Victor still holds the relays record he set back in 2017 with 8,472 points.
The 2023 Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays continues to be one of the best and most-competitive meets in the country and is set to begin in exactly two weeks. The meet will be the second out of four home meets for the Longhorns with the Texas Invitational (April 29) and the NCAA Championships scheduled to return to the Forty Acres from June 7th-10th.
