AUSTIN, Texas – No. 21 Texas Baseball's Porter Brown has been named the Big 12 Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Brown helped lead Texas to a 4-0 week that included a sweep of then-No. 14 Texas Tech. For the week, Brown batted .615 and provided the game-winning runs in two of the games. On Friday night, he provided a go-ahead two-run homer and on Saturday he led off the ninth with a double and scored on a wild pitch to end the game.
For the week Brown had two doubles, two homers, eight RBI and six runs scored.
This is Brown's second career weekly award after he was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week as a freshman at TCU in 2019.
The Longhorns head on the road for four games this week, starting at Texas A&M on Tuesday at 6 p.m. before going to Oklahoma State for a weekend series March 31 to April 2.
