Skilken places second on platform on final day of NCAA Zone D Diving Championships

Four Longhorns earned NCAA Championship qualifiers on platform.
MINNEAPOLIS – Texas senior diver Jordan Skilken placed second on platform to highlight the final day of competition at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on Thursday. The Longhorns qualified three women and one man on platform for the upcoming NCAA Championships.
Skilken scored 626.00 points to secure her second NCAA qualifying event, after earning a spot on 1-meter during Wednesday's competition. Joining her in the top 10, the cutoff for NCAA qualification, were Senior Janie Boyle placed fourth with 579.40 points and freshman Sarah Carruthers tallied 510.15 to finish sixth. Boyle and Carruthers also netted their second national meet qualifiers, with Boyle earning a spot on 1-meter and Carruthers on 3-meter after they both placed in the top-12 in the respective events earlier in the week.
On the men's side, junior Noah Duperre, the lone diver in the competition for Texas, finished fourth on platform with 741.70 points. Duperre has now qualified for all three diving events after winning the 3-meter competition on Wednesday and placing ninth on 1-meter on Tuesday.
All told, eight Texas divers earned NCAA qualifiers at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships. For the women, Boyle, Carruthers, Skilken, Hailey Hernandez (1-meter; 3-meter) and Bridget O'Neil (1-meter; 3-meter) each qualified for two events. Duperre leads the men with three events, while Nick Harris (1-meter; 3-meter) and Brendan McCourt (1-meter; 3-meter) qualified for two events each.
The Longhorn women head to the 2023 NCAA Championships on Wednesday, March 15 through Saturday, March 18 in Knoxville, Tenn. The UT men will compete in the 20213NCAA Championships on Wednesday, March 22 through Saturday, March 25 in Atlanta.
