Women's Track & Field sets two collegiate records on final day of the 95th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays presented by Truist

Rhasidat Adeleke and Julien Alfred took part in three collegiate records in five races during the Texas Relays.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas women's relays broke two of its three collegiate records on the over the weekend on the final day of the 95th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. Rhasidat Adeleke and Julien Alfred dazzled the crowd of nearly 17,000 in the finals two days of the Texas Relays.
The Texas Relays most outstanding teams were awarded to the women of Texas and the men of Georgia. Adeleke and Alfred were named co-most outstanding female performers of the meet, while Leo Neugeabuer of Texas was named male athlete of the meet.
The women ran its second collegiate record of the weekend in the 4x200 relay where Alfred, Adeleke, Lanae-Tava Thomas and Kevona Davis ran a time of 1:28.05. The previous collegiate record was ran by Oregon in 2017 with a time of 1:28.78.
The Longhorn women added their final collegiate record of the weekend in the Carlette Guidry 4x100 relay with a staggering time of 42.00. The time took down LSU's time of 42.05 set in 2018 after running 42.38 in the prelims.
Adeleke and Alfred were also on Friday night's sprint medley relay team that also broke the collegiate record with Kennedy Simon and Valery Tobias with a time of 3:36.10.
Texas recorded its fourth and final relays victory in the Sanya Richards-Ross 4x400 relay from Thomas, Simon, Alfred and Adeleke defeating NCAA indoor champions Arkansas with a time of 3:23.27. The time also ranks as the second-fastest time in Texas history after the team of Simon, Adeleke, Alfred and Stacey-Ann Williams broke the record last year at the relays with a time of 3:22.94.
The men's 4x200 relay of Daniel Garland, Nolton Shelvin, Caleb Hulbin and Marcellus Moore finished as the runner-up with a time of 1:20.97 – the third-fastest time in UT history.
Isaac Alonzo became a two-time 2023 Texas Relays champion after winning the Jerry Thompson Mile with a time of 4:02.2. It was his first collegiate mile race. Alonzo also won the men's 5K on Thursday night.
Ackelia Smith also doubled as a Texas Relays champion, winning the triple jump on Friday night and winning the long jump Saturday with a mark of 6.57m (21-6.75)w.
