No. 8 Women’s Golf finishes seventh at Big 12 Championship

DALLAS — The No. 8 University of Texas women's golf team shot the second-best final round of the field and finished in seventh place overall as they wrapped up the final round of the Big 12 Championship on Sunday at the Dallas Athletic Club.
The Longhorns shot 292 (+4) for the final round, among four teams that shot better than 10-over par on a tough final day. No. 23 Oklahoma State claimed the overall title as they shot four-over-par for the tournament and eight-over-par in the final round. No. 13 Baylor finished at 11-over-par and TCU finished in third place at 12-over-par.
Sophie Guo and Bentley Cotton led the way for Texas as they each shot six-over-par for the tournament to finish T18. Bohyun Park shot the best final round for the Longhorns with an even-par 72 on the day. Angel Heo and Cindy Hsu each carded their best round of the tournament in their final round as they played in their first Big 12 Championship. Heo shot a one-over-par 73 and Hsu carded a three-over-par 75.
Texas will learn its draw in the upcoming NCAA Regionals during the Division I Women's Golf selection show on Wednesday, April 26. The show will be televised nationally at 12 p.m. Central on Golf Channel.

"Overall, it was not our week, however, I was happy with our teams effort today after starting so poorly in rounds one and two. Now, it is back to the drawing board for us. We will iron some things out over the next week and a half and be ready to go at our next event."
The Lineup
• Bentley Cotton made three birdies in her round and finished T18 on the individual leaderboard with a final round 74. Cotton finished T11 in the 2022 Big 12 Championship.
• Sophie Guo birdied two of her last three holes in the Championship to finish with a one-over-par 73 and finished T18 for the tournament. Guo carded four birdies in the second round and final round of the tournament. Guo made 10 birdies in the tournament, tied for the eighth most in the field.
• Bohyun Park shot her best round of the tournament with an even-par 72. After scoring 2-over on the front nine, Park made a pair of birdies on the back to shoot 2-under and finish at even-par for her final round. Park finished tied for fourth in the field in par 3 scoring.
• Angela Heo made two birdies on her scoreboard on the way to a one-over-par 73 final round in her first Big 12 Championship. Heo shot her best round of the tournament in the final round.
• Cindy Hsu birdied the fifth hole and shot her best round of the tournament with a three-over-par 75 in her first Big 12 Championship.
