With reigning Big 12 Coach of the Year Angela Kelly leading the way, Texas looks to best program marks set in 2022
AUSTIN, TX – After winning the Big 12 Conference regular season championship during the 2022 season, The University of Texas women's soccer program will look to repeat in 2023 as Longhorn head coach Angela Kelly, in conjunction with the Big 12, has announced the 2023 Texas Longhorn women's soccer schedule Monday morning.
Texas, which finished with the second-best winning percentage in program history with a .773 (15-3-4) mark in 2022, will enter the new campaign riding a school-record, 18-match regular season league unbeaten streak after going 7-0-2 in Big 12 action in 2022.
After an eight-match non-conference schedule that sees the Longhorns begin the season at Long Beach State on Thursday, Aug. 17 before playing at Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field seven times, Texas will begin its hunt for another regular season conference championship by opening league play in Waco against Baylor on Thursday, Sept. 14.
Eleven days later, Texas will play the one of the league's four newcomers when the Longhorns welcome BYU to Austin for a Monday night showdown. On Oct. 5, the Longhorns will see its second newcomer when they travel to Orlando to play UCF. Ten days later, Texas will make the near three-hour drive east to play Houston in its final regular season road match.
The 2023 regular season will conclude on Monday, Oct. 23, when the Longhorns host league foe TCU.
