Former Longhorn Heather Schreiber to enter Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame

AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame announced today that it will have eight new members with the addition of the Class of 2024, including former Longhorn great Heather Schreiber.
The incoming class of legends will be inducted during a banquet on May 18, 2024, as part of the annual TABC Clinic.
Schreiber led Windthorst High School to a four-year record of 105-16, which included a State Runner-Up finish in 2001.
She was a four-time All-State player and a Parade All-American in 2001. She scored 2,571 points, grabbed 1,237 rebounds and had 513 assists in her high school career.
Schreiber went on to become a four-time All-Conference performer and a 2004 Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American for head coach Jody Conradt at the University of Texas. In 2020 Schreiber was inducted into The University of Texas Athletics Hall of Honor. Heather (Schreiber) Stark helped lead the Longhorns to a 103-30 (.774) record during her time on the Forty Acres, which included two Big 12 Conference Regular-Season Championships, four NCAA Tournament appearances, three NCAA Sweet 16s and the 2003 NCAA Final Four.

Heather (Schreiber) Stark, Basketball (2001-05)
A four-time Big 12 Conference honoree and a 2004 Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American, Heather (Schreiber) Stark helped lead the Longhorns to a 103-30 (.774) record during her time on the Forty Acres, which included two Big 12 Conference Regular-Season Championships, four NCAA Tournament appearances, three NCAA Sweet 16s and the 2003 NCAA Final Four. The Longhorns won the Big 12 regular-season championship in both 2003 and 2004, and also took home the Big 12 Tournament title in 2003. Stark played in 133 games in the Texas uniform, starting all 133 of them. She ranked third all-time in program history for the most starting nods in a career. Stark played 3,846 minutes during her Longhorns career, which ranks fourth-most in school history. To this day, she still ranks in the top-10 of seven other statistical categories, including: three-point field goal percentage (5th, .393), three-point field goals made (6th, 189), free-throw percentage (6th, .818), free-throws made (9th, 319), offensive rebounds (9th, 286), defensive rebounds (10th, 568) and total points scored (10th, 1,708). Named to the 2003 Big 12 All-Tournament Team, Stark also was a finalist for multiple national player of the year awards to include the Naismith Award, the Wade Trophy and the Wooden Award. She was the 2002 Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Year. As part of USA Basketball, Stark helped lead the United States to the gold medal at the 2002 FIBA Americas Under-20 Championship. She was selected with the 39th overall pick of the 2005 WNBA Draft by the Los Angeles Sparks. In addition to her standout basketball career, she also played one season (2005) with the Texas volleyball team. Stark, an Academic All-Big 12 selection during her time at Texas, graduated in 2005 with a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology. She is currently the head girls basketball coach at Windthorst High School, her alma mater. Stark and her husband, Dylan, reside in Windthorst, Texas, with their three sons.
